From WSAZ, “A West Virginia Parkways Authority employee is facing charges for thousands of dollars in parkways funds that are missing.
Patrick Springman, 46 of Bluefield, is charged with embezzlement and grand larceny.
According to a criminal complaint, Springman works for the West Virginia Parkways Authority.
Troopers say he is responsible for obtaining money at several locations owned by the parkways and then Springman delivers the funds to the United Bank in Charleston.
Between June 2017 and October 2017, troopers say there is $37,000 unaccounted for from the Parkways Authority funds. Those funds were under Springman’s direct responsibility, according to the complaint.
Troopers say they found parkways financial documents, monies and money bags in Springman’s possession while not performing his duties.”
