Former Ruby Tuesday worker pleads guilty to embezzlement, sentenced to 10 years probation

From The Daily Times, “A Seymour woman was sentenced to 10 years probation Friday after pleading guilty to embezzling over $100,000 from Ruby Tuesday while working at the company’s corporate headquarters in Maryville.

Heather Marie Cooper, 35, of Seymour, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft between $60,000 and $250,000 during an appearance Friday in Blount County Circuit Court.

Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp previously told The Daily Times that Cooper was arrested in August after an investigation revealed she embezzled $117,359.09 from Ruby Tuesday between May 2, 2013, and Jan. 6, 2015.

Cooper initiated over 100 electronic transfers from the company’s payroll accounts into her personal bank account during that time, Crisp said.”
