Business owner remanded over wedding scams

From New Straits Times, “Shamsul Amar said other victims of the alleged scam have come forward and their police reports are being compiled by the Selangor state police contingent commercial crime investigation department.

It was reported more than 100 soon-to-be-wed couples swarmed ZurinJundi Boutique in Section 7 here yesterday to demand their money back.

The men and women gathered at the wedding planner’s office at about 10am following allegations that its owner had failed to pay her caterers and photographers.

It was learnt that the business owner would be at her office to meet with clients and issue refunds to customers amounting to RM500,000.”
